One of the most common conditions in men is hair loss. Statistics show that more than 8 million men experience male-pattern hair loss in the UK. Additionally, up to 75% of men become affected by hair loss starting from the age of 65. Many factors can cause hair loss.
Not only ageing, but hair loss can be a symptom or a cause of physical and psychological health conditions. A misconception of people on baldness or hair loss especially in men is that it cannot be treated. Studies show that up to 95% of hair loss in men can be reversed or treated.
Hair Loss
Hair loss is a condition where you lose hair excessively. It is also known as alopecia. Normally, an individual who does not suffer alopecia can lose hair between 50 and 100 hairs a day. We may not notice this as each one of us has more or less 100,000 hairs and 50 to 100 hairs are just a small part of it. Also, as our hair continuously grows, new hair easily replaces the lost hair, but this may not be true for all.
Hair loss is more common in men than in women. Although hair loss is most commonly considered as a sign of ageing, hair loss can also happen in children due to different factors.
Alopecia for some people can be caused by stress which results in a general thinning on your hair. It can also be caused simply by heredity, a family condition is known as androgenic alopecia which causes bald spots and patches in men and a general thinning of hair for women.
Moreover, medication and supplements can cause alopecia as well since certain drugs can have hair loss as its side effect.

There are different ways and forms you may notice hair loss. It can happen gradually or abruptly on your scalp or your entire body. Here are some of the symptoms of hair loss:
